A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, harassment and criminal damage in Hythe.

Police say the teenager was arrested in Hythe shortly before 3pm today (June 7).

It follows reports of a robbery from a 12-year-old boy in Holbury on June 5.

A public order incident is alleged to have also occurred in Blackfield on the same day.

One day later damage was caused to a business on High Street, Hythe.

Police are also investigating reports of a further incident in Marchwood on May 1.

The 13-year-old boy remains in custody at this time.

New Forest Temporary Inspector, Tom Hannam said: “We recognise the impact these types of crimes can have on the local community and business owners.

“As ever, we really appreciate the support and cooperation of our communities and have once again taken swift action by relentlessly pursuing those suspected of causing harm to our communities, and making an arrest.”
