An inspiring compilation album featuring songs by artists from Southampton and the Isle of Wight is being released to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Get in the Solent is available on limited edition cassette and digital download thanks to the efforts of local musician and DJ David Baker, who has been diagnosed with the disease.
David, who has been involved with Coach Party, The Bees and Plastic Mermaids, told the Daily Echo: “I grew up on the Isle of Wight and was in various bands prior to moving to Southampton.
"Over the years, I have met so many talented musicians, and after my diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease, I have been given the opportunity to ask many of them to donate a song to this compilation. All profits will go to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branches of the MNDA to fund research and support for fellow sufferers.”

David and his wife Alice write a blog called 'MND Can Get In The Sea!' which documents their MND journey.
They approached Chalkpit Cassette Club, which was founded by Silas Gregory on the Isle of Wight and is known for its dedication to keeping cassette culture for the next generation of music fans, and they agreed to the collaboration.
Featured artists include Coach Party, The Bees, Plastic Mermaids, Four Letter Feeling, The George Street Boys, Owen Hackett, Xockha, Alan Daysh, Teenage Waitress, Dan O’Farrell, Dead Rabbits, Lucas & King, Mostly Jones, Brian Munro, Mystery School, Goo Lagoon, Jake Goodrum, Bobby I Can Fly, Anna Baker and Paul Armfield.
MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age, but is more likely to affect people over 50.
Since his diagnosis, David has raised nearly £10,000 by doing DJ sets, gigs with his band Bobby I Can Fly, and a charity walk. Another £10,000 has been raised in his name by friends and family running, swimming, walking, gigging, baking and quizzing.
