A popular street food festival on the edge of the water is returning for a second year.

Hundreds of people were wowed by the aptly named Summer Feastival last year - and they can get a second bite of the action next month.

The food and drink festival will take over Crosshouse Road car park in Southampton for three whole days.

Organiser Matt Sanger said: “We were delighted with the response to the event last year.

“A festival right by the river near the Itchen Bridge turned out even better than we could have imagined.

“This year, we have added a Friday evening session and that is going to be one for the grown-ups to really let loose.

“We will once again be showcasing incredible food trucks, we’ve got a great DJ line-up, brilliant drinks and more.

“Food and music really bring people together and Summer Feastival will again be a celebration and be among the best events to ever be hosted in Southampton.”

Visitors can explore ‘The Greatest Food on Earth’ offered by some of the ‘most inspiring’ chefs in the region.

Guests can also try food from those as travelling from far and wide to get the city’s taste buds salivating.

A disco area will feature DJs from in and around Southampton, playing music across the three days.

The event is organised in collaboration with Matt Lawton from Street Food Circus.

He said: “We’re excited to be bringing the Street Food Circus back to Southampton for Summer Feastival.

“Last year exceeded our expectations and it was a great collaboration with Southampton offering something deliciously different.”

Food will be cooked by Ceylon and Beyond, Chiki Monkey, El Cabron, Fire and Flank, Mandala Street Food, Packed Piddaji, Sin Nombre, The Jerk Yard, Mint Dosa, Two Lads Kitchen and Woosabi.

For music fans, there will be a Balearic style party on Friday with Matt the Hat, L. Chiefster and guests.

Collective States, Martin Gayle, Ryan Lane, and Mass Appeal will perform on Saturday afternoon, while a soul, funk and hip-hop party with Soul 45s and Kazzanova DJs will take place on Saturday evening.

Paul Betts, Royston Black, Clayton Burke, Mark Patterson, Sound of Harris and more DJs will also take to the stage across the weekend.

The festival will take place from July 5 to July 7, with one session on the Friday, three on the Saturday, and two on the Sunday.

Advance tickets are £5 per session for adults and kids enter for free.
