Eastleigh's Motofest at Silverlake Stadium in pictures

Families enjoyed seeing a range of supercars, motorbikes as well as classic vehicles on display at the motor show, organised by Silverlake Automotive Recycling at Silverlake Stadium on Saturday.

Attendees also looking to buy a new car also had the opportunity, with various stands for Volkswagen, Renault and Mercedes among others.

Event organiser and managing director of Silverlake Automotive Recycling, Allen Prebble, said: “We put a lot of time and effort into it, a lot of planning and thought.

"I was asked by Eastleigh Football Club to organise it and I thought I could do something special.

“Being a car guy I thought it would be a good idea to bring all the local dealers together, trying to get them to be supported by the local community.

“We have had nearly three thousand pre-sold tickets and loads of people are coming through the gates.

"I think it will be a great thing for the community.”

Invited to speak at the launch of the festival was Saints legend and new director of football at ABC Totton, James Beattie.

The 46-year-old said: “Allen asked me to come down and open up and I’m a mad petrolhead anyway so I love my cars. It was a bit of a no-brainer.

“It’s their first year running and I think they’ve had decent ticket sales; hopefully if the weather holds itself up there will be even more people coming along.”

He added: “There are lots of cars on show, motorbikes as well and a lot of stalls which is nice, it’ll make for a good day out for everybody and especially those who like cars.”
