He said: “Today is the grand opening, and it has taken me five months to get here.

“I did all the work by myself; it has been really good experience for me.

“After being in this business for a decade, I decided to open a restaurant in Bedford Place as this space became available.

“I am excited about being among other independent businesses and restaurants.

“This is the first Mint Lounge in the city.”

Gaurav said: “We have been open for a few days ahead of our official opening, and we’ve had a great response from that.

“We have proper Indian food – we offer a fine dining experience.

“It is proper authentic Indian food here, and there is a need for this in the city.

“Our menu is completely different to that of other Indian restaurants – everything about it is different.”

Diners can enjoy a wide variety of dishes, from chicken and lamb to a whole section of the menu dedicated to vegetarian-friendly meals.

Popular dishes include achari style paneer tikka, kesari malao chicken tikka, and chilli garlic prawns, while the chef recommends the vegetable masaladar and lamb madras.

The bar is also home to a range of drinks – alcoholic and non-alcoholic – including cocktails.
