The man in charge of Domino's Pizza on The Avenue in Southampton has been named the chain's top boss. 

Alex Hughes beat 1300 others to be named Domino's Manager of The Year. 

He was presented with his award by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan at the annual rally, a celebration of Domino’s team members and franchise partners from around the country.

Alex, who first joined the Domino’s family over a decade ago at age 16, and is a former Fastest Pizza Maker champion, was nominated for the title by his team members who acknowledged his hard work and investing in his people as key to his success.

Having joined the Southampton - The Avenue store in 2022, Alex began with hiring a full team of over 25 new hires. Since then, the team has grown to achieve great success including increasing late-night sales by three per cent.

He said:  “Thank you to my brilliant team who, through their commitment and hard work, makes managing them a dream."
