From festivals to forces, it's a bumper weekend of family fun in and around Southampton this weekend.
Here's our top tips of five things to do to keep you all entertained this Saturday and Sunday (June 22 and 23).
Isle of Wight Festival...
Isle of Wight Festival 2024 opened in style last night as Peter Crouch's podcast warmed up the crowd for England's Euros group game against Denmark.
The event, which continues until Sunday at Seaclose Park in Newport, will be headlined by The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys, and Green Day.
Jessie J, Natalie Imbruglia, The Pretenders, Johnny Marr, Feeder, S Club, and more are also on the line-up.
Southampton's own Caity Baser, hailed a future superstar, will also join the line-up for the first time.
Seen as the traditional start to festival season, Isle of Wight is known for boasting a brilliant line-up, the best of new and old, curated by celebrated promoter John Giddings.
Fawley Armed Forces Day...
The annual event is set to deliver a full line-up of entertainment for all the family.
A spokesperson said: "We will have live music all day, and various armed forces speakers doing small talks, plus a large collection of military vehicles and a funfair.
"There will be more than 50 stalls run by businesses and charities along with bars, food stalls, show vehicles and lorries, and a shooting range.
"The Historic Army Aircraft Flight are bringing a helicopter that will land at the event. People will be able to climb inside and have their photograph taken."
In Guildhall Square...
Southampton's newest festival continues this weekend with an appearance from legendary music maker Nile Rodgers & CHIC on Sunday.
Nile Rodgers is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee and a multiple Grammy Award winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist.
As the co-founder of CHIC, Rodgers pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like Le Freak, the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records, and sparked the advent of hip-hop with Good Times.
His work in the CHIC Organization including We Are Family with Sister Sledge and I’m Coming Out with Diana Ross and his productions for artists like David Bowie (Let’s Dance), Madonna (Like A Virgin) and Duran Duran (The Reflex) have sold over 500 million copies.
