Thousands in Southampton have crossed the finish line at The Common and raised staggering amounts for Cancer Research UK.

On Saturday, June 22, thousands of residents from Southampton put on their pink t-shirts, glasses and hats to take on the race.

Prior to the race, those taking part spent weeks gathering donations and raising money from friends, families and colleagues and those taking part told the Echo it was a 'powerful and emotional day.’

The donations went towards funding life-saving cancer research and the attendees had no pressure to finish in a certain time – with some even taking part with mobility issues.
