Lifeboat crews rushed across the Solent after reports of a person in the water.
Crews from Solent Rescue abandoned their training session yesterday after a 999 call to report a person in the water off Browndown near Lee-on-the-Solent.
On route, a further report was made that a lifejacket had been seen offshore which possibly could have been used to mark a hazard.

Rescuers searched the area but did not find a swimmer.
They then moved inshore to search Browndown Beach for the lifejacket.
After making a number of enquiries with swimmers, they were unable to find a lifejacket.
The lifeboat team was stood down by the coastguard and resumed their patrol.
