Southampton is set to bask in sweltering temperatures today with the Met Office forecasting highs of 27 degrees Celsius this afternoon.
Bright sunshine has been forecast throughout the day, with a spokesperson for the Met Office saying: “Any early mist or shallow fog patches will rapidly clear to give a fine and dry day with light winds and plenty of sunshine.”
There are currently no weather warnings in place though a Met Office has advised there will be a very high pollen count.
