NEW signing Deji Sotona insisted he "can't wait" to get started at Eastleigh.
The 21 year old winger has joined the Spitfires for an undisclosed fee from Doncaster Rovers, where he made six appearances in League Two.
The Irishman spent the second half of last season on loan at Boston United, who he helped win promotion to the National League.
Speaking to the club in his first interview, Sotona outlined that manager Kelvin Davis has "big plans" for him.
He said: "It feels good, I'm delighted to get (the deal) over the line. (At) every club I've been to, I've developed in a different way.
"I learned a lot. It's only made me stronger and developed me as a player. This is a great place (Eastleigh) with great facilities. I can't wait to get started.
"I spoke to the gaffer. The project and plans he has for me here are big. I like to say that I'm a quick and direct player. I like to get at players and cause problems.
"I like to create chances and get goals. That is my game. I can't wait to work with the lads and get prepared for a massive season ahead."
Sotona started his football journey in his native Ireland before making the switch to Manchester United at 13 years old.
Three years later, he moved to OGC Nice in France after a phone call from Patrick Vieira. On working with the French legend, Sotona said: "I moved to France to play first-team football.
"It didn't work out for me there. As I got there, the manager who brought me in got sacked within a few weeks.
"Patrick Vieira is such a legend. When he called me, I couldn't turn him down."
Sotona made 22 appearances in the National League North last season, scoring twice and providing one assist.
