Whiteley's Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties has launched a competition to award a local cause £1,000.

The housebuilder, raising homes at Woodlands Chase, encourages residents to nominate deserving groups, individuals, or organisations who could use a boost.

The money could go towards new equipment, personal fundraising, or related endeavours.

Nominations, including the name of the nominee and reason for nomination, should be sent to whiteley_communitychest@taylorwimpey-pr.co.uk by July 29.

One nominee will be chosen to receive the donation.

Roz Wells, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: "Community groups and local charities rely heavily on the support they receive, so we are delighted to be able to do our bit for residents around Whiteley through our community chest campaign.

"If you know of a worthy cause in your area, we would love to hear about them. We look forward to receiving the nominations and announcing the winner in August."
