Sidney Yankson’s letter to the Daily Echo is a load of codswallop.
Conservative candidate Sidney Yankson has been parachuted in from Chelsea and he knows nothing about our city. Mr Yankson claims to be some expert on local government, but he’s only been a councillor in Chelsea since 2022.
In complete contrast, Labour’s Darren Paffey has served our city for many years as a councillor. Darren works at our university as a senior lecturer, and he has been a cabinet member for children and families. Darren lives in Bitterne Park with his family, and his kids attend local schools.
Mr Yankson said that you wouldn’t get a teacher to fix a sink. I don’t know what Darren Paffey is like at plumbing, but I don’t want a sink fixed. I want someone to clear up the mess caused by 14 years of Sidney Yankson’s Conservative Government.
Southampton, and our country, needs change. And Darren Paffey in Southampton Itchen, and Satvir Kaur in Southampton Test are that change.
