Southampton Summer Sessions is set to welcome a new act to Guildhall Square this evening.
French music duo Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoit Dunckel – known as Air – will perform opposite Southampton Guildhall, one night on from Placebo’s headline performance.
Well-known for producing the musical score to Sofia Coppola’s feature film directorial debut The Virgin Suicides, Air has three top-10 UK albums to their name, most notably their 1998 debut album Moon Safari.
Izzy Lindqwister will support the group – a Swedish expat musician and DJ based in Paris.

Tom Jones and Madness kicked-off the opening weekend of Southampton’s Summer Sessions in spectacular fashion as thousands of music fans attended the opening gigs a little under two weeks ago.
On Sunday, June 23, Nile Rodgers and Chic – supported by Sophie Ellis-Bextor – performed, before continuing their European tour in Paris.
Placebo basked in the hot weather yesterday evening, while Paloma Faith, Loyle Carner, and Kaiser Chiefs will perform over Southampton in consecutive days, with the latter concluding the three-week event.
