The mum of a motorcyclist who died in a horror crash on a Hampshire road has paid tribute to him as a “fun-loving boy”.

Police were called at 5.42pm on Thursday following a report of a collision involving a black motorbike and two cars on the A334 at the junction with Sandy Lane.

Emergency services rushed to the scene but despite their best efforts, the rider, a 20-year-old man from Shedfield was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His family were informed and have since been supported by officers.

Now the mum of the motorcyclist, Karen Harley, has paid tribute to her son, Kieran, whose death, she said came as a “huge shock to us all as a family”.

She said Kieran, a dispatch handler for South Central Ambulance Service and whose dream was to become a paramedic, was on his way to work at the time of the crash.

In a fundraiser launched to help the family with funeral costs, she said: “Our son was a fun-loving boy, enjoyed being with his family, his partner and friends. [He] especially loved the freedom of his motorcycle and embraced every moment life had to offer.

“In his memory, we would like to provide our special boy with the send-off and celebration of his life in the way he deserves.

“To anyone looking to offer support, any donations will go towards our son's send-off and the remaining balance going towards a charity best suited to celebrate our son and provide support to others.

“I wish to thank all our friends, family and the perfect stranger, who has kindly sent well wishes and condolences. We as a family find them all of great comfort.”

Police are also now appealing for anyone with information on the crash to get in touch to assist in their enquiries.

A spokesperson for the force said: “As part of our investigation we would like to hear from anyone who may have been passing through the area around 5:40pm [on Thursday afternoon] and saw what happened or the moments leading up to it.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage which could help us with our investigation.
