Southampton Airport handles hundreds of thousands of passengers each year, with a huge amount of flights leaving from the venue as a result.
Airports across the UK ask that passengers arrive with a bit of time before their flight to help make their journey smoother, including Southampton.
If you’re travelling via Southampton Airport this year, you might be wondering how much time you should arrive at the airport before your flight.
When should you arrive at Southampton Airport before a flight?
On its Customer Services FAQ page, Southampton Airport explained how early passengers should arrive before their flight.
If you are travelling within the UK you should arrive around one hour before your flight is about to leave, whilst if you are travelling internationally you should arrive about 90 minutes before your flight.
They wrote: "As a general rule you should arrive at the airport at least one hour before your scheduled departure time if you are travelling within the UK or to the Channel Islands or Ireland, and at least one and a half hours before your scheduled departure time if you are travelling internationally."
Places to eat and drink at Southampton Airport
There are a few options for food and drink at Southampton Airport including the Olive Tree Bar & Restaurant.
It is described as a "charming, casual bar with a full drinks menu including alcoholic and soft drinks and a selection of bar snacks available".
You can find it upstairs in the main departure lounge after getting through security.

Alongside that, there is the Olive Cafe Bar which offers a "quick and convenient" kiosk for hot drinks and snacks.
Elsewhere the terminal has a Costa Coffee, a WHSmith and a World Duty Free shop.
Southampton Airport also features the Spitfire Lounge which can be booked or accessed through certain loyalty schemes or ticket packages.
