A man wanted for crimes in Poland who ripped a TV out of his ex-partner’s wall led police on a chase before crashing into two cars.
Dawid Tokarski threw food on the kitchen floor of the mum-of-three's kitchen during a rampage as he "wanted a payback" after their relationship ended, Southampton Crown Court heard.
The 33-year-old also stole a car from her father's house, and while evading police he crashed into two other vehicles before being arrested.
The court also heard Tokarski, who has lived in the UK since 2019, is wanted for matters related to a domestic incident in his native Poland, for which he awaits sentence.
Southampton Crown Court heard he had been in a relationship with the mum of three for about three years.
After the relationship ended in December last year, on January 9 he went to her house and demanded that she give him the keys to a car given to her by her father.
She was reluctant at first as she thought he would be under the influence and knew he was not insured to drive the car, the court heard.
Prosecutor Lucie Taylor told the court she ended up giving in as she felt she “had no chance” and he drove to her father’s garage.
Ms Taylor told the court: “His driving was chaotic and drove in such a way which caused deliberate damage to the car, running into objects on the road.
“He then drove into the garage doors, got out of the vehicle, kicking the wing mirrors.”
On a separate occasion when returning to her house, she found that Tokarski had been in the property and that the TV had been ripped out of the wall and food had been thrown onto the floor.
He later told the police he did this as he "wanted a payback".
Later that month on January 24, the court was told Tokarski returned to the property and stole a number of keys including one of a Volvo car and drove away with it.
Officers later found him in the car, before he took off at speed.
In the pursuit, he crashed into a car and drove at 40mph on a 30mph road before turning onto a different road where he crashed again, Ms Taylor said.
He tried to run away from the scene but was stopped by officers.
Mitigating, Gaylene Coles said Tokarski, who is wanted for matters related to a domestic incident in Poland, had been in custody for five months.
He also previously failed to attend an extradition hearing.
She said: “[Tokarski] tells me he’s received a number of letters from [the victim] whilst in custody. He hasn’t replied or spoken or seen her.”
She added he was “aware of his predicament in relation to extradition matters”.
Sentencing him, Judge Christopher Parker KC said the effect his actions would have on his ex-partner would be “obvious not just to her but to her three children also”.
He was sentenced to 22 months in prison and was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
