Dobbies Garden Centre in Cadnam is set to host a children's plant-growing workshop next month.

Dobbies is extending an invitation to children aged four to ten to join the free and interactive Little Seedlings workshop on Sunday, August 4.

The session will include a gardening show and tell session and will provide young learners with an understanding of plant life through various stages of growth.

Colleagues at Dobbies will demonstrate the multiple stages of a plant's lifecycle - from tiny seedlings to fully grown plants.

Dobbies' Little Seedlings Club aims to create a fun and interactive environment.

Being a part of the club helps children understand the vital role of plants and their different parts, such as roots, which are crucial for absorbing water and nutrients.

It also sheds light on varied habitats where plants can thrive.

Kids are encouraged to bring along a plant they have been raising at home to share their achievements with the group.

Hannah McAtamney, who conducts Little Seedlings Club workshops, said: "Our Little Seedling Club workshops at Dobbies’ Cadnam store are really popular with families in the area, and we can’t wait to take kids on a journey of discovery by exploring the lifecycle of plants, and the benefits and importance of gardening and growing.

"We’re looking forward to seeing some of the plants they are growing at home, and we know they will be excited to show them off too!

"By encouraging kids to connect with nature at a young age, we hope to inspire the next generation of gardeners."
