A Love Island lothario from Southampton has been dumped from the villa after a public vote saw four islanders axed from the show.

Hugo Godfroy was drafted in during the iconic Casa Amor storyline – a part of the show that is designed to tempt the contestants into choosing a new partner.

In last night's episode (July 10) the show hosted a public vote and told viewers to pick their favourite man and woman at the end of the episode.

That resulted in the Casa Amor stars Hugo Godfroy, Blade Siddiqi, Jess White and Emma Milton all being sent packing.

The 24-year-old entered the 11th season of the show on June 30 during the Casa Amor storyline and lasted 11 episodes until being dumped by way for public vote last night.

However, despite lasting less than two weeks in the villa, he did have a lasting impact causing rifts between some of the girls.

First of all Hugo coupled up with fellow contestant Jess White in Casa Amor - but it wasn’t plain-sailing because he also hit it off with Matilda Draper.

Jess was outraged when she saw them both chatting and took a swipe at Matilda saying on the show: “I'm fuming at her. She can see how happy I am for the first time in ages. She's got someone back there anyway.”

“It feels like, and it’s a harsh way to put it, but it’s like a boredom thing… there is sexual chemistry, but there’s something missing.”

Prior to entering the villa, Hugo said: “I’ll be an honest Islander and I’m never afraid to be myself.

“I always take people’s opinions on board but I’m not a yes man - I’m going in there to find love and prepared to step on toes to do so.”
