Forty 8ft decorated lighthouses including a giant astro robot are in place on the streets of Southampton and Cowes ready for a large scale free family-friendly art trail to get underway this weekend.
Plus, there are another 40 'little lights', designed by local schools and community groups, which make up Light the South.
It's all part of the latest public art trail to grace the streets of Southampton, aiming to shine a light on and raise money for Southampton Children's Hospital.

The free walking trail, presented by Southampton Hospitals Charity in partnership with Red Funnel and Wild in Art, will guide visitors through some of the most well-loved and historic landmarks on the route over the school holidays until September 1, also providing a welcome boost for local businesses.
Ellis Banfield, Southampton Hospitals Charity Chief Executive, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching Light the South this weekend. As well as creating a brilliant adventure for families, this spectacular trail will help Southampton Hospitals Charity raise vital funds for our Children’s Hospital, one of the top three paediatric centres across the country.”
Sculpture designs include an interactive installation from the University of Southampton’s Electronics and Computer Science Department, a giant astro robot from the future, as well a Lighthouse with a magnificent red and white rose mosaic illustrating an instantly recognisable symbol of the city.
The sculptures, each sponsored by a local business, will be auctioned at the Southampton International Boat Show on September 20.
It's the first ever art trail for Southampton Hospitals Charity in partnership with Wild in Art, an organisation which has previously hosted trails in cities across the UK and worldwide, raising £23.6 million for charitable causes.
The charity brings people together to raise life-changing funds for University Hospital Southampton – the South Coast’s leading healthcare provider. From specialist services to pioneering research, supporters enhance care, experience and outcomes for thousands of patients every year.
Light The South, which hopes to attract thousands of visitors as well as engaging residents, starts on Saturday (July 13).
