The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

MARC FARRELL, 42, of Torque Close, Southampton was found guilty of assault by beating in Southampton. He received an 18-month community order with a 30-day accredited programme, five rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work. Farrell must pay £200 compensation and £400 court costs. He also received a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim or going to Foundry Lane, Southampton for the next five years. 

CHRISTOPHER JACKSON, 25, of Wharf Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Southampton. He received a one-year community order with 200 hours of unpaid work. Jackson must pay £2,500 compensation, £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge.

CRAIG BERRY, 36, of Alexandra Road, Southampton admitted a charge of harassment without violence in Southampton. The court heard how he had messaged and called his victim, as well as attended her home address uninvited. Berry received a one-year community order with 12 rehabilitation days and a £750 fine. He received a restraining order banning him from contacting his victim for the next five years. He must pay £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge. 

MANGEL TAAK, 35, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to assault by beating at Clovelly Road, Southampton. He was jailed for four months. 

DYLAN DAVID, 26, of Millbrook Road East, Southampton admitted seven counts of theft from a shop after £627.90 worth of meat, cheese, butter, football stickers and Match Attax cards were stolen from various shops. The items were taken from One Stop stores in Exford Avenue, North East Road and Peartree Avenue. Offences also took place at Lidl in Antelope Park, Aldi in Bursledon Road and Co-Op in Portsmouth Road. David was jailed for six weeks. He was also ordered to pay £627.90 in compensation.
