It follows an incident at a block of flats in Park Reach at around 10.40am on Friday.

He was also charged with an offence under the Communications Act relating to a number of emails he allegedly sent between July 1 and July 11.

The 25-year-old, who was supported by his family in the public gallery, represented himself during the hearing.

He entered no plea and elected for the case to be dealt with at the crown court.
