Urgent repair works are set to take place in Portswood tonight leading to a southbound closure of a busy road.
Motorists have been warned there will be a one-way southbound closure on Portswood Road – between Mayfield Road and Broadlands Road – from 8pm tonight, Monday, July 15, until 6am tomorrow morning.
The closure will be in place while 'utility cover repairs' take place, the city council said.

Informing followers on X – formerly known as Twitter – a spokesperson for Southampton Travel said: “Urgent utility cover repairs on Portswood Road (July 15), 8pm to 6am.
“There will be a one-way southbound closure of Portswood Road between Mayfield Road and Broadlands Road. Please plan your journey.”
