A Hampshire charity has launched a year-long fundraising campaign to celebrate 25 years of supporting people.

The family support charity, Daybreak, based in Eastleigh, is inviting people to take part in a special fundraising initiative called 25 for 25.

The public are encouraged to do "25 of something", such as running 25 miles or swimming 25 lengths each week, for 25 weeks. This marks the charity's first fundraiser of its kind.

Since its inception in 1999, Daybreak has partnered with thousands of families and young individuals across the South, assisting them in resolving life challenges.

Many of those supported by the charity struggle with issues such as mental health, substance abuse, relationship breakdowns and other welfare concerns.

With this campaign, the charity aims to raise the funds necessary to sustain and expand these vital support services.

Daybreak CEO, Debbie Burns said: "This is our first major fundraising campaign of this kind and we are excited to get started!

"We are looking forward to seeing what challenges people embark on, and cheering them on.

"As a charity, demand for support continues to increase whilst sourcing funding becomes more difficult.

"We are so grateful the support."

Not only will the public be participating, but the Daybreak team will also be showcasing a team challenge along with individual ones throughout the year.

Updates, ways to participate, and celebratory news will be regularly shared on their social media.

Interested fundraisers are asked to register online at www.daybreakfgc.org.uk/fundraise to join the campaign and in return, will receive a digital fundraising pack and cheered on by the #TeamDaybreak squad.

This ongoing campaign is one of several initiatives in celebration of Daybreak's 25th year, with additional special events and information about the charity's history and mission scheduled throughout the year.

Through the campaign, this Hampshire charity - initially created to help embed the Māori practice of family group conferences - extends an invitation to everyone to join them in turning challenges into opportunities and, in their own unique way, celebrate all the transformations they've championed over the past 25 years.
