It's the practically perfect tale of the world's favourite nanny - and it's coming back to Southampton next summer.
Mayflower Theatre will host the new UK and Ireland tour of multi award-winning musical Mary Poppins from August 27 to September 20, 2025.
Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the beloved 1964 Walt Disney film, the Cameron Mackintosh and Disney production is even more magical than before with dazzling choreography, incredible effects and unforgettable songs.

The story of the world’s favourite nanny arriving on Cherry Tree Lane features the classic Sherman Brothers songs Jolly Holiday, Step in Time, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Feed the Birds with new songs and additional music and lyrics by the Olivier award-winning team of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.
The book is by Oscar-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes of Downton Abbey fame with co-direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne.
The beloved Mary Poppins is the family tale of Jane and Michael Banks and their memorable adventures with their magical nanny with memorable appearances from Bert and his team of London chimney sweeps, their father's banking fraternity, Mrs Banks and her suffragette pals and more.
The show's return to Southampton follows a record-breaking run in London's West End, where the show received rave reviews and nightly standing ovations.
The 2024/25 Mary Poppins tour opens in Bristol in November and travels to Dublin, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Manchester before its nearly month-long South Coast run.
The show last flew into Southampton eight years ago when the Daily Echo reviewer described it as 'practically perfect in every way'.
Mary Poppins has been a huge hit in the West End, on Broadway and in large-scale touring productions all over the world.
Casting for the show's latest visit to Mayflower Theatre is yet to be confirmed.
Tickets will go on general sale on October 17 from mayflower.org.uk or 023 8071 1811 with members sales up to a week earlier.
