A man has been banned from the roads for more than three years for using his phone while drug-driving an uninsured car. 

Dmytro Senechyn was caught on his phone whilst driving on Bedford Place, Southampton

Following the incident at 1.40am on May 1 last year, the 25-year-old of Oak Tree Drive, Guildford failed a drugs wipe for cannabis.

He was also found to be uninsured to drive the black Audi A4. 

Senechyn was banned from driving for 40 months at Southampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday (July 16). 

He was also ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and must pay a £240 fine.
