Cones and barriers being placed in the middle of a road have prompted police action.
Officers are aware of an incident before 11pm on Wednesday of cones and barriers being placed on Jacobs Gutter Lane in Totton.
Three men were seen in the area at the time.
This led to officers investigating to complete further enquiries and reassurance patrols in the area.

Residents who may spot officers are urged to approach them should they have any information to share or any questions.
A police spokesperson said: “If you witnessed [Wednesday] night’s incident, or recall seeing anything suspicious in the area at the time, please call 101 and quote incident number 44240304090.
“We also want to hear from you if you have any footage which may assist us in our investigation, whether that be CCTV, dash cam, doorbell camera or mobile phone.”
As previously reported, drivers had been targeted by thieves putting out fake road closures.
This prompted hapless drivers to get out of their vehicles to move the roadblocks, in an incident in Jacob's Gutter Lane in Totton.
At the time, officers warned motorists saying: “If you come across barriers and/or cones in the middle of a road, causing an obstruction, please remove the keys from the ignition and lock your vehicle after exiting it to move them.
"Please also then report the incident to us.”
