A man was punched multiple times and kicked in an assault which left him with cuts and bruises.

The incident happened on Carless Close near Grande Road, in Gosport between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday, July 19.

The 37-year-old man was approached by a man and punched in the face several times and kicked in the back before another man, with short ginger hair and a beard then threatened him with a knife.

A 40-year-old man from Gosport has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and has been bailed until October 19 pending further enquiries.

Police are now asking for anyone with information to get in touch with them.
