The Mayflower's new restaurant, Ovation, echoed the pizazz of "Chicago" with a sophisticated launch during an evening many will never forget.

Former EastEnder Emma Barton, who was playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago at the time, cut the ribbon to open the venue as 80 invited guests enjoyed an evening of cocktails and canapes.

As well as getting to meet the star, who played Honey Mitchell, on February 18, 2010, guests were also entertained by a jazz band.

She also reached the finals of Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 when she was partnered with professional dancer Anton du Beke.

The new Ovation restaurant promised a locally sourced à la carte menu alongside special meal and show packages.
