A tandoori restaurant has received a a poor hygiene score.
The Waltham Tandoori in Bishop's Waltham was handed a one out of five rating after a review by Winchester City Council and the Food Standards Agency.
This means "major improvement is necessary" at the Indian restaurant, especially in its management of food safety and hygienic food handling.
The Waltham Tandoori is one of only five restaurants in the area overseen by Winchester City Council to have received this unenviable rating.
The others are Hong Kong Star in Winchester, The Bakers Arms in Droxford, The Forge in Shedfield and The White Horse in Otterbourne.
According to the Food Standards Agency website, to score well in food safety management a restaurant must have a "system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future".
The Echo's sister paper, the Hampshire Chronicle, has contacted Waltham Tandoori for comment.
