A warning for thunderstorms has been issued for Southampton on Thursday by the Met Office.
Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for Southampton from midday to midnight.
The warning, which covers much of England, warns that heavy showers and thunderstorms are likely to break out across parts of England and Wales on Thursday afternoon.
The showers could be "torrential, with the additional hazards of lightning, hail and gusty winds", the Met Office warns.
Up to 70-90mm of rain could fall within 24 hours.
It comes after the back of a week of blue skies, sunshine and scorching temperatures for the city.
