A major road in Fair Oak has been hit with a second bout of road works this month - just days after the first set finished.
Allington Lane in Fair Oak is shut from today, Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 5, just two days after a two weeks of road works finished.
The road was shut earlier this month from Tuesday, July 16, until Saturday, July 27 for repair teams to carry out highway maintenance repairs on the three-mile stretch of road that links Chartwell Green to Fair Oak.
According One.Network, the closure is in place for highways teams to undertake “trial holes to determine the depth of the road to the bridge deck using hand excavation".

The latest road works will also shut a portion of Quob Lane from Allington Lane to the Quob Lane roundabout.
A diversion route has been set up which takes motorists through West End on the B3035 to Tollbar Way in Hedge End.
Drivers are then directed through Horton Heath, on Botley Road, which meets Eastleigh Road at the top of Allington Lane.
