Jewellery was stolen after a man broke into a house in the middle of the night, police said.

The man is alleged to have broken into a house on Cobden Avenue sometime between midnight and 1.30am on Friday, July 12.

Various items of jewellery were stolen, according to Hampshire Constabulary.

The force has been carrying out an investigation and are now releasing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to who was seen in the area at the time.

They believe he may be able to assist the force with their enquiries.

The suspect is being described as being aged between 20 and 40-years-old, white, between approximately 5ft 10ins and 6ft 2ins tall, and of skinny build.

The suspect was wearing a dark puffer jacket, tracksuit bottoms with reflective detailing, bright yellow gardening gloves and a jumper around his head to act as a face covering.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “Is this you or do you know who he is?

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting the reference 44240294565.”
