Finding a decent place to park in any city can sometimes be a bit tricky, and it's something people travelling to Southampton might have on their minds.
Even if you do find a decent car park with plenty of spaces, the cost of staying there can be extraordinary.
Despite this, there are a few spots around Southampton that offer a cheaper rate if you're looking for a day out.
Full details of all council-owned car parks can be found on the website here.
Some of the cheapest places to park in Southampton
Cemetery Road Car Park
Located right next to Southampton Common, the Cemetery Road Car Park offers the best deal for those looking for a shorter stay as it's free for up to four hours.
If you go above that you will need to pay £6 but if you're there for a shorter time it's a good deal.
Crosshouse Road Car Park
With opening hours from 8am until midnight all week, Crosshouse Road Car Park offers a reasonable rate of £2.80 for a four-hour stay.
Additionally, if you need up to 10 hours you only need to pay £5 and it's only £7 for more than 10 hours.
It is located on the outskirts of the city centre near the Itchen Bridge but if you're prepared to walk a little then it's quite a reasonable price to pay.
Six Dials Car Park
Six Dials Car Park is found not too far away from St Mary's Stadium and offers fairly reasonable rates.
If you only need an hour it's £1.20, for two it's £2.20 and four hours is only £3.20.
Meanwhile, if you need a full day to explore Southampton then up to 10 hours only costs £6.
Overall, it has 72 spaces and has opening hours from 8am until midnight all week.
Trinity Road Car Park
Trinity Road Car Park is another with reasonable rates, having the exact same as the Six Dials Car Park, which it is right next to.
There are fewer parking spaces here at 23 but if you manage to get one it's a good place to be.
Northam Road Car Park
Northam Road Car Park is located close to Six Dials and Trinity Road and also has the same rate costs.
This one also has a small number of spaces though at 23, although you are ideally placed if you get one.

Meanwhile, up to three hours is £3.30 and up to four hours is £4.50.
There are also only 14 spaces available in this one, but if you're prepared to walk around a bit to explore Southampton then it could be worth it.
