Two students have shared the Student of the Year title at Brockenhurst College for the first time.
At the college's gala award ceremony in July, STEM student Daisy Colebeck of Bournemouth and media student Lillie Howes of Totton were both given the title.
Daisy Colebeck, a high-achiever with a Cambridge University offer, said: "It's really nice to have been acknowledged for all my hard work over the last two years.
"What makes tonight even more special is that the awards recognise every kind of student here at Brock, not just academic high achievers – that's what I'm really happy about."
Media star Lillie Howes, who is looking forward to the University of Winchester, said: "I feel slightly overwhelmed by my award this evening.
"I’ve been at Brock for six years and in a way I really don’t want to leave.
"I have so many highlights from my time here, and I’ve made friendships and memories that will stay with me forever.
"Tonight has been a great way to end my time at Brock."
The ceremony was reformatted in 2024 to acknowledge different types of student achievements, not just limited to academic accomplishments.
At the beginning of the night, guests enjoyed drinks and canapes.
Host Alexa Phillips welcomed everyone to the college and explained the new format of the awards.
Principal Helen Odhams and vice chair of governors James Hiley-Jones took turns presenting the awards.
A total of 34 awards were handed out with winners receiving a certificate, a citation from the nominating staff member and a £100 cheque from the award sponsor.
In her speech, principal Helen Odhams, said: "I congratulate all our award winners for their dedication and hard work, which highlight the exceptional talents of our student body.
"These achievements reflect both their personal commitment as well as the inspirational and supportive environment provided by our staff.
"We look forward to seeing their continued success as part of our alumni community. Well done to all of them."
The gala awards marked the official closure of the 2023/24 college year.
