The skies were a splash of colour last night as the Northern Lights illuminated Southampton.
A rare Perseid meteor shower and the lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, created a celestial display.
Stargazers were treated to the impressive show in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
This was the second time people were dazzled by the Northern Lights, with photographers also capturing the scene on Sunday night.
Keen photographer Amanda Jane Norfolk was lucky enough to capture the display in the New Forest.
She said: “To capture the Aurora is special enough, but in the New Forest the light pollution tends to be much reduced and the peacefulness of the trees makes it a very wonderful experience.
“I take my tripod out when the alert warning is high and adjust my camera to nighttime settings and with a slow shutter speed.
“You don’t know what you get until you process and edit the image and it can be quite tricky to capture the other elements fully focused.
“It’s quite surreal but a magnificent glow of magical light across the sky.”
The Northern Lights were also seen from Hedge End, Boyatt Wood, and other parts of the New Forest.
