A PCSO has admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Daniel Mark Carlson, 29, has been suspended from Hampshire police after his appearance at Poole Magistrates' Court.

The Hampshire Constabulary officer, who was based out of Winchester, faced two charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

He was also charged with two counts of attempting to cause or incite a girl aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity.

The offences took place between July 10 and August 9 this year. He admitted all charges.

It is alleged there was communication sent while he was on duty, police said.

The offences came to light after an investigation by the force's Internet Child Abuse Team.  

Carlson has been remanded in custody to be sentenced at a later date.
