In a recent Facebook post, Hampshire Constabulary warned residents to stay vigilant in relation to rogue traders.

In the post, the force warned: “Unfortunately, there have been a number of reports in the last week or two of a rogue trader taking advantage of elderly residents in Gosport.

“In this instance it is a roofer who offers to do a small job, quick fix, at low-cost type of job, which then turns into a quote for many thousands of pounds.

“Not all roofers, indeed any trades, are bad - but this one in particular seems persistent and has cropped up a couple of times locally.”
