Photographers have been out and about capturing vivid reds and oranges in the skies over Hampshire.

Daily Echo Camera Club members have shot some fantastic images of sunset and sunrise, particularly over the New Forest, in the last day. 

The Met Office explained that smoke from wildfires in North America has been carried across the Atlantic leading to vibrant and unusual colours above us on Sunday (August 18).

During the day, the sky turned pale white, with the sun looking much more hazy through the smoke.

Once the sun had set, the almost full moon was given a bright red tint.

There were more impressive sightings in the skies this morning, but the bizarre colours are expected to have passed by Tuesday (August 20).
