Changes have been announced to Bluestars bus services in and around Southampton.
The operator has made a number of changes to its timetable that will come into force on September 1.
It says these will improve its offering by increasing the frequency of services and making its timetable more reliable.
The following changes are due to come into force:
Bluestar 6
- The 6.25am journey Monday to Friday from Lymington is extending beyond Totton to Southampton.
- The 9am journey from Southampton will be retimed to 9.20am Monday to Friday.
Bluestar 7
- Additional journey Monday to Saturday at 9.50pm from City to Sholing and back again.
- The 10.50pm Monday to Saturday journey from Sholing will now return to the city, arriving at 11.19pm.
- Reliability improvements to peak afternoon journeys Monday to Friday.
Bluestar 8
- First journey from Hythe, Monday to Friday retimed 10 minutes earlier to 6.15am.
- Journeys from Southampton retimed to improve arrival times in Rushington for workers starting at 8am.
Bluestar 9
- Monday to Saturday frequency will increase to every 20 minutes.
- Monday to Saturday evening frequency will increase to every 30 minutes until 10.10pm with an extra late journey at 12.10am from Southampton.
- Extra Sunday evening journeys added at 7.12pm from Fawley and 8.10pm from Southampton.
- Revised route towards Southampton to utilise the new bus-only slip road on the A326 - stops on Spicers Hill will no longer be served. Use Clay Meadow, Jacobs Gutter Lane and Rushington Roundabout as alternative stops.
- Earlier journeys added from Southampton at 5.25am to meet shift start times at Rushington.
- Evening journeys towards Southampton rerouted via Marchwood.
- Monday to Friday, journeys to Calshot will reduce to five journeys per day. Saturday and Sunday will remain hourly.
- General reliability improvements. Improvements to the Bluestar 9 are funded by Hampshire County Council BSIP.
Bluestar 11 and 12
- Additional earlier journey Monday to Saturday from Calmore at 4.48am and from Southampton at 5.20am.
- Additional earlier Sunday round trip at 6.28am from Calmore and 7.05am from Southampton.
- General reliability improvements.
Bluestar 13
- Evening journeys that previously finished at Harefield are extended to Bitterne.
- General reliability improvements.
Bluestar 14
- Additional evening journeys Monday to Saturday at 8.30pm and 10.30pm from Southampton improving it to an hourly service.
- General reliability improvements.
- These improvements are funded by Southampton City Council BSIP.
Bluestar 15
- Route change in Netley: Buses will no longer serve Ingleside or Woolston Road (Butlocks Heath). They will instead operate directly between Netley Rail Station and Hound Farm improving the journey time.
- The route change allows the service to extend beyond City centre to Central Station.
- Saturday frequency increased to every 30 minutes.
Bluestar 20
- There will be a route change in the Bitterne Park Triangle area, towards Southampton. Cobden Avenue (the stop at the bottom of St Catherine's Road) will no longer be served as buses will now turn right into Bond Road then left into Manor Farm Road.
