A cruise ship that was brought to a halt near Southampton waters after a passenger had to be airlifted to hospital is set to return to the city today.
On August 13, the Caribbean Princess came to a stop off the coast of the Isle of Wight after leaving Southampton on route to Iceland.
The ship was seen to halt its course off the coast of Ryde, on the northeast of the island, at around 6pm after departing from the port at 4.30am.
It is understood that a passenger on board the ship suffered a medical emergency.
A coastguard helicopter was seen to circle the ship before landing on the vessel, which is operated by Princess Cruises, picking up the patient who was then transferred to an ambulance.

The ship, which had over 3,000 passengers onboard, was diverted to Falmouth where it was anchored until continuing its course to Iceland.
Residents and visitors in the city will be able to catch a glimpse of the iconic Caribbean Princess as its docks in Southampton at 6.15am today.
The ship will depart from the city at around 4pm where it will embark on a new voyage: a 14 day round trip to Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and Wales.
The medical emergency incident on board the Caribbean Princess comes just a month after a medical emergency on board her sister ship, Regal Princess.
The Regal Princess was also diverted to Falmouth during the incident.
