Hampshire Search and Rescue has marked its 1,100 callout.
The dedicated voluntary organisation, which began its operations in 2003, is primarily tasked with locating and rescuing the vulnerable on behalf of local law enforcement.
However, over time, the crew has broadened its abilities, now assisting in the Local Resilience Forum and the Fire and Rescue Service with their water, drone, medical and foot teams when possible.
While the team acknowledges this milestone, there is no sense of glorification, but rather a moment to reflect on the individuals they've assisted, their past team members, and the continuous support from their families.
The search and rescue team serves selflessly, out of necessity, not desire, always ready to step-up when needed.
Despite the high callout number, the team remains humble, wishing they did not have to be called upon as it often implies that someone is in trouble or a family is undergoing distress.
