A New Forest man has been arrested after drugs were found at an address following a police pursuit.
On Friday, officers were patrolling when they spotted a vehicle travelling along Old Milton Road in New Milton.
Officers found the car was registered as having no insurance. The driver was pursued by police, during which time an item was dropped before it came to a stop on Gore Road.
Police found the team and it was revealed to be suspected class A drugs.
Officers arrested the driver of the car, a 35-year-old man from New Milton, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle on a road/public place without third party insurance. The car was seized.
He has been released on conditional bail to allow for further investigations to take place.
Officers also searched a New Milton address linked to the man and found further class A drugs, class B drugs and drug paraphernalia.
While at this address a police officer was assaulted by a second man.
The man, in his 50s and from New Milton, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
He has been released from police custody but remains under investigation while police enquiries continue.
Sharing the arrests on their Facebook page, a police spokesperson said: "These arrests form part of our wider work to disrupt the supply of drugs across the New Forest.
"We would ask people to keep reporting any information about drug supply in your area to us.
"You are our eyes and ears on the ground, and information submitted helps us build up the bigger picture about what is going on so we can take the appropriate action."
