Visitors can enjoy free entry to the maritime Buckler’s Hard Museum to celebrate the Heritage Open Days Festival.
The museum, situated on the banks of the Beaulieu River, exhibits include Nelson’s original baby clothes, conversations between villagers of the past, and the shipbuilding story of Nelson’s fleet at Trafalgar.
The visit also features a free talk by Mary Montagu-Scott about the world’s only surviving shipwreck from Buckler’s Hard.
Her talks are scheduled for 2pm on the Friday and 11am on the Sunday.
Visitors can also explore the village where the BBC and Disney FX adaptation of Charles Dickens’s Great Expectations was filmed.
Activities include: visiting an art exhibition, stepping inside the Shipwright's Cottage and St Mary's Chapel, and taking a Beaulieu River Cruise.
The festival will take place from September 6 to 8, entrants should use the code HOD24 for free admission.
Dogs are welcome on a lead in the museum, so the whole family can come along.
