A man asked a girl if she was single and touched her in a car park in broad daylight.
According to police, the incident reportedly happened in Basingwell Street, Bishop's Waltham, between 11am and 11.20am on Friday, August 23.
The teenager was approached by the man, who tried to start up a conversation with her - asking if she was single, police said.
He then inappropriately touched her over her clothes.
Police said the man is a well-known face on the high street in the town and is described as White, aged between 50 to 70, around 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build.
He has short grey hair, wears glasses and was wearing a baseball cap, a red T-shirt, black trousers and black shoes when the incident happened, police said.
The spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and recalls seeing a man talking to a girl.
"We’d also like to hear from you if you recognise the description of this man and think you might who he is?
"Additionally, if you have any footage of the incident, including mobile phone, dash cam or CCTV, please let us know."
