An inquest has opened after a man was killed when he was struck by a train in Southampton last month.
Jason John Picket, 32, of West Millbrook Road, died near Swaythling railway station at approximately 9pm on Saturday, August 18.
He was hit by a train in an event which was described as a "tragic incident".
Lines between Southampton Central and Eastleigh were shut for hours while emergency services responded.

An inquest into his death was opened at Winchester Coroner's Court on Monday by senior coroner Christopher Wilkinson.
Mr Wilkinson said that the preliminary cause of Mr Picket's death was multiple injuries caused by a collision with a railway locomotive.
The inquest has been adjourned and will be heard in full at Winchester Coroner's Court on August 25 next year.
