Eastleigh College has launched four new Centres of Excellence, expanding educational opportunities for students.

The Hampshire institution revealed the new resources at the start of the 2024/2025 academic year, following a substantial £12 million investment.

This considerable development includes Centres of Excellence in Business and Finance, Health and Social Care, Bricklaying, and Electrical Installation.

These new facilities aim to provide students with immersive learning environments, each tailored to their specific subject areas.

Health and Social Care students, for example, will use a purpose-built healthcare ward and elderly care mock flat, whereas Business and Finance students will take advantage of a specialised boardroom, office spaces, and interview rooms.

Electrical Installation learners can access equipment that mirrors modern industry technology, and Bricklayers will train in a newly-built facility that reflects their actual work environment.

The latest additions are not the end of the expansion; Southampton College, another member of the South Hampshire College Group, is set to reveal four more Centres of Excellence in Early Years, Engineering, Motor Vehicle, and Digital Industries.

These unveilings continue the college group's impressive developments, which recently included the premier South Coast Institute of Technology at CEMAST in Lee-on-the-Solent.

Particularly beneficial for students on apprenticeships, Higher Technical Qualifications and T Levels, these Centres of Excellence reinforce South Hampshire College Group’s status as the lead provider of T Level qualifications in the Solent region.

These innovative initiatives are revolutionising career-focused education, offering students hands-on experiences that reflect the real world of work.
