A bucket list swim in Southampton Water is back for a third time - and will be opened by a Paralympic gold medallist.
Peter Hull MBE will see 100 swimmers set off on a charity swim at Southampton International Boat Show in aid of the city's Rose Road Association, which supports children and young people with disabilities.
The fun, non-competitive 1km swim takes participants past tall ships and superyachts before the boat show opens on Saturday September 21.

Paralympic champion and Rose Road Charity Ambassador Peter Hull MBE told the Daily Echo: "Swimming became a sanctuary for me and once I began to swim competitively at the age of 10, it wasn’t just about beating other people. It was about beating people’s expectations. That’s why I am delighted to be an ambassador for Rose Road, every day they challenge the expectations society has of disabled children and young people. Taking part in the Southampton International Boat Show Open Water Swim is an opportunity to support this incredible local charity and change the lives of local disabled people."
There are still spaces available for the swim, which saw Daily Echo writer Lorelei Reddin take a dip in the Docks during its inaugural event in 2022.
100 swimmers of all abilities will take to the water with the aim of raising over £10,000 for the charity.
Rose Road Head of Fundraising Chloe Atkins added: "This is a truly unique opportunity for those who enjoy open water swimming to enjoy a location not normally open to the public.
"The money raised from this exciting ‘dip in the docks’ will help us deliver more emergency respite and support to families in crisis.”
Registrations are open via roseroad.org.uk/swim which includes a medal and free entry to the Boat Show, with discounted entry for spectators.
DJ Chris Moyles, an Oasis tribute act and one of the stars of Below Deck are among the attractions at this year's boat show, which runs from September 13 to 22 and will see children enjoy watersports and adults snap up boating equipment or even a superyacht!
