A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after a scrap involving ten people.

The teen from Southampton was arrested after police rushed to a public order incident in Andover town centre just before 7pm on Tuesday night.

When officers arrived at the scene on High Street, three victims came forward to say they had been assaulted by a group of people.

Two of the victims – a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s – sustained minor facial injuries.

A third person, a 16-year-old boy who was riding past on a moped at the time, was hit on his motorcycle helmet, but he was not injured.

Two arrests have been made by Hampshire Constabulary in connection with this incident.

A 31-year-old man from Andover has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

A 16-year-old boy from Southampton has been arrested on suspicion of affray, assault by beating, criminal damage, and a public order offence.

Both people are currently in police custody.

Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of what took place.

They are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they believe there would have been people in the High Street or Bridge Street area at this time who potentially would have witnessed the incident.
