Four people have been arrested after a three-year-old boy fell from a window in Southampton.
The child was injured and taken to hospital at around 6.35pm on Wednesday after falling from a property in South Front, near Hoglands Park.
Residents say he fell from a top storey window, and landed in front of the window of a ground floor flat.
Two women, 26 and 45, and two men, 29 and 45, have been arrested on suspicion of assault/ill-treat/neglect/abandon a child/young person.
Residents of the three-storey block of council-run retirement flats spoke of their shock at the incident.
Iona Leach, 70, described seeing a fleet of emergency vehicles rush to the scene as it unfolded.
"There were two police cars in the park to make space for the helicopter, four cars in the road and two ambulance vehicles,” she said.
Ms Leach added: “I heard them all racing down the road but it happens a lot. I went out the front and the boy fell in the front of a woman’s door.
"She saw him land face down.
"Emergency services were there for a long time. Our windows only open a little bit, then open out wide when you turn them the other way.
"It was horrible. People couldn’t believe it was a child. I just hope he is alright."
